It wasn't nearly as bad as the ones like:

Chris Christie/John Huntsman
Jim Webb/Evan Bayh

This, with "Trump wins Minnesota" distant second.

No one was making those in 2016 though. 2015 maybe.

I would nominate King's prediction that Walker would win the nomination unopposed, but that was in 2015.

Seeing as how skeptical King has always been of Walker, that was probably sarcasm.

But my all time favorite prediction of that nature was sometime around 2010 or so when Mr. Morden was talking about speculated Republican candidates for 2012 and Beet was like "Why on Earth are you even talking about this or paying attention when it's obvious that Sarah Palin is going to be the nominee?"

My favorite part was when I said that even if you think Palin's the favorite, the fact that we just had a number of presidential primary races in which underdogs surged into the lead at the last minute (like McCain's amazing '08 comeback after being left for dead) meant that it's dumb for us to bet too heavily on *any* frontrunner 18 months before voting starts.  And then Beet responded by saying "We are entering a period where politics will be very deterministic."

That's my favorite argument from people who are too confident about their future predictions.  "Sure, we've had unpredictable twists and turns in these races before, but *this time is different* and it's now possible for us to predict these things with near certainty.  Trust me."

I remember someone unironically predicting that Hillary would get third place in Iowa, behind O'Malley and Webb. Or it might have been Warren and Webb, I forget.

In all fairness I made this one back in 2013, and who honestly predicted Trump

He wouldn't have a chance in such a crowed field. If he was ever going to run it would of been in 2012

I do think that Cruz's Southern Firewall looks pretty stupid on reflection

Is there one saying why Trump might do well among Latinos? Grin
