Any Senators interested in running for the Presidency (pro tempore) of the Senate should announce the same here.

I announce my intention to seek the Presidency of the Senate.

Isn't the President pro tempore always a member of the majority party?

Not necessarily. By convention, he would be the most senior member of the majority party, but here, conventions don't matter!

How can we have a closed-door election?

And also, how could the senate confirm supreme court nominees without a President pro tempore required by the Constitution?

Dems and Progressives combined will not let it happen. M won't be allowed to win and I think StevenNick is more likely than Lewis to get that seat. But who knows...

I announce my intention to seek the job of President Pro Tempore.
