I'm a strong supportive of comprehensive sex education in schools.  It's important that students are given the facts about sex at a young age so that they understand what's going on with their bodies and their feelings and can make sound judgments.  None of this stupid birds and bees stuff.  Tongue  Students don't need to be babied with programs that avoid these issues or proselytized by school teachers about whether they should be having sex.  They are human beings and can make their own moral judgments.

Studies have also shown that using comprehensive sex education programs tends to reduce unwanted pregnancies (so also reduces abortions), it makes students more likely to use protection, and it can also reduce the amount of sex they have and the age when they start having it.

Also, since these are grants, it doesn't force regions are schools to use these programs.  They can choose not to take the grants if they don't want to for whatever reason.

It leaves most of the decisions in the hands of the regions, and doesn't skew to one view of another. I can support this.

Ugh, I really hate this. I am extending this another 24 hours and I will PM inactive legislators to vote on these bills.

My apologies. Between real life, the Sword of Damocles, the voting booth, Blair's campaign, and Election What-Ifs, it's hard to be fully active in all of this.

No, I fully understand. I blame myself for not PMing each and every one of you. I second your IRL issues, like from August to November is my toughest time of the year.

Also, by a vote of 6-1, this passes to go to the Senate.

Um, I would like the record to reflect that I voted Nay.

The record has slight dyslexia, so now the record is fixed Wink
