It's basically gone from Democrats having a 55% chance of taking the senate to a 55% chance for Republicans to hold it. Not a huge shift and a lot is going to change before election day, especially if Democrats make North Carolina and Missouri truly competitive.

MO is a pure Tossup and so is probably NC at this point. AZ isn't competitive and neither are NH, IA and GA.

I'd still give the GOP the edge in MO and NC if only due to incumbency.

AZ could have been competitive if Ward had succeded in Cantoring McCain.

Also what about New Hampshire though? Wink

I assume considering his previous comments he means NH is gone for Ayotte?

Yes it's gone, but it was never "there". Smiley

2010 was a really strong Republican year, and New Hampshire is trending away from Republicans FAST.

You're correct (and I absolutely expect Hassan to beat Ayotte, ftr), but it's a tad ridiculous to say New Hampshire was never there for Ayotte when we can put an exact date on that event happening, within all of our lifetimes.

As for the WaPo article that this thread is dedicated to, it's definitely premature. I still expect Democrats to take the Senate.

How do you know TNVolunteer isn't really five years old? Wink

Anyway, we've only had one post-primary poll from AZ. I'd have to see more before calling it anywhere near safe.
