The Trending News Team was caught manually inserting stories about the election into its news feed, instead of just identifying and curing algorithm changes. Gizmodo broke the story in May.

Under the Politics tab on my FB homepage, I currently have a handful of links to disgusting right-wing blogs, and not one but two links to something about Ashton Kutcher's secret wedding.  So yeah, FB Trending is basically unreadable now.
