Mitt says he's thinking about running for president.  He expects to make a descision about his future in Massachusetts (and likely his national ambitions) this fall.  This announcement really confirms what most of the state has been thinking for the last few months, not a surprise at all.

He won't get the nomination.  He is a centrist.

Not likely, b/c the GOP has historically steered strongly clear of candidates from New England

He's also a mormon which could pose problems.  I think I remember jmfcst saying at the old board, something like "I admire Orrin Hatch for running, but with the current demographics of the GOP, a mormon can't win the nomination."  I'll dig up the exact quote as soon as I can.

Why would anyone said he's considering a run? We've known that for months. In my opinion, he's defintely running in 2008. Only Primary wins - NH and Michigan.
