Good choice.

She badly needed someone like Kaine to drag her over the finish line.

With the help of Kaine, Sanders, Biden and Obama she might be able to do so, in a race that she should actually win by 10%.
While the polls are currently close, I still think the June Pew Poll will maintain its apparent predictive nature.

Solid pick.

While politically I was thinking that she should go with a strong progressive and possibly a Hispanic choice, I personally very much like Tim Kaine. I am excited, although I still maintain that there were better choices politically.

A Pope Francis Catholic eww. I'm not the largest fan of the pope's standing on issues though I still respect his authority.

Well, you can always create a new church and make yourself a pope Smiley Ample precedent for that Smiley

Welp, there goes my vote.

Now to start googling retired generals I think would make a good chief executive.

Clinton is going to win big and no one should be surprised in November. There is no way Trump is going to win when he's stuck in the low 40s constantly.

Just making sure you can't delete this later.

This VP roll out is a million times better than Trump/Pence.

I will admit my mistake if I'm proven wrong, but barring a black swan, I think Clinton/Kaine will win a solid victory.

Very impressed by the speech. Didn't think I would be, but after sleeping on it a bit and seeing him in action, I'm convinced he is an extremely strong choice.

I think you should worry more about your own posts and not deleting them if Clinton wins. I don't delete posts if I make a wrong prediction. I recall saying Obama would win re-election and I was right, and I also said Trump would win the nomination and was right.

When would have been the best date to announce him?

This was good timing.  It move focus from Trump's convention speech onto Kaine, which is shaping into a very positive story.

Good personal synergy with Clinton. Qualified to be president. Low key and safe enough to avoid hurting the ticket. Helps in the battleground state of VA. Good pick.

At the risk of sounding Sam Spade-esque, this wasn't surprising at all. It actually would've been surprising if she picked anyone else (at least since Becerra fell off the radar some weeks ago, IMHO).

I just saw this on my FB page, said by Kaine:

"Tough times don't last, but tough people do—and they don't come any tougher or any more compassionate than Hillary Clinton."

Love it!

At least Kaine goes to mass, unlike Pence and Rubio, who still claim to be Catholic when it helps them but go to evangelical Protestant services instead.

As I understand it, Rubio goes to both Catholic *and* Protestant services:

If only Kaine were the Presidential nominee.

Hillary and Kaine at least appear compatible.  Trump and Pence appear forced when together.  Of course, Carter and Mondale, Kennedy and Johnson, Dukakis and Bentsen, and even Reagan and Bush appeared forced at times.  I suppose that any political Republican VP pick would appear forced in the presence of Trump.

As I said in the other thread, this is a terrible pick and I don't know how I'm going to vote this November now.

I don't get why some are so upset with Kaine. I know he has a very moderate image and persona, but in reality he's been a pretty standard Democrat. And before he got into politics, he was a fair housing attorney. That's a big plus in my book.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but Politico has a juicy behind the scenes look at Clinton's veep search, including who was pushing for whom:

I just finished watching the whole speech, and I must say, Tim far exceeded my expectations. He was FAR from boring--very energetic, cogent, and inspiring. Fantastic choice.

I listen to a popular, progressive, and union friendly talk radio show in the Madison, WI area (with a big enough signal to go into Northern Illinois and Eastern Iowa) and anti-TPP and anti-free trade is the main issue on almost every show. The issue resonates with people.

People it resonates with should vote Trump.

I couldn't agree more, ag. Smiley

Yeah, I really want all horrible people to concentrate in one party I could comfortably hate then.

You want economic leftists in the Republican Party?  I encourage you to hold your breath for it.
