What if Neil Kinnock beat Margaret Thatcher in the 1987 UK election? How could this be done? For this challenge you can use any PoD after the 1983 election, preferably plausibel, so that Kinnock beats Thatcher. What would be the effects? How would Kinnock 1987 govern? How would UK politics be altered? Thoughts?

Thatcher wouldn't have gone to the country until 1988 had she believed that there was a good chance she'd lose.

Well ok, just it has to be the election after 1983, Kinnock vs Thatcher.

How do you think Kinnock would have done as Prime Minister if he won in the Eighties?

Soft left style just like Wilson. Keep the railways in public ownership and doesn't pursue private reforms in public services.
