My early guess: Todd Rokita. But if he, or Brooks, or any Congressional nominee is chosen, who replaces him/her for the House race?

57 minutes ago: Brooks in, Daniels out, Rokita reportedly in

[quote]Two would-be frontrunners made it clear Thursday they are not seeking to replace Pence. Purdue University president and former governor Mitch Daniels said he would not pursue the Republican nomination. Daniels said he had been recruited by "a large number and wide variety of people I respect deeply," but decided he's not interested.

Rokita has said he plans to run for governor. Brooks is planning to withdraw from her congressional race to pursue the nomination, said Murray Clark, the former state Republican Party chairman and a partner at the law firm Faegre Baker Daniels. Holcomb has not publicly stated his plans, but is widely assumed to be running.[quote]

Congratulations Governor Gregg.

We'll see who gets nominated (assuming Pence actually is VP), but an open seat race could actually be harder.

That's almost never the case.

Not when you have a governor as disliked as Pence.

Given Trump's delay on the announcement because of the attack in Nice, I have a feeling it won't be Pence. He has to choose him today or else the IN ballot deadlines get passed.

EDIT: So much for a delay.

If the Reps nominate Brooks or Holcomb, the Dems should just pull their resources out of Indiana and put them all into North Carolina.  That's probably the most critical governorship of all.

So was Hill. Gregg could drop out and defer to Bayh, though considering Gregg's in pretty good shape as well, that will be hard. Lots of craziness - makes me wish I was still in Indiana to witness it!

The INGOP will probably pick Brooks. They want to put this race away, not create another tossup.

Congratulations Governor Gregg.

I realize you're a delusional Democratic hack, but how would you not know that Pence running for re-election was the entire reason that this race was so competitive?

Brooks was the only congresswoman outside of NJ and PA to endorse Christie, so I suppose she is not an hardcore conservative like Pence or Stutzman.

Does the Frank Underwood of Indiana (aka Eric Holcomb) have a chance?
