Gerald Rudolph Ford is 91 years old and reportedly still in good health.  If he lives to November 6, 2006 he will have officially outlived Ronald Reagan to become the longest-living President.

The question I have is will he make it that long, or will he go before then and stay in 2nd place?  Do you think he will live to 95 or 100?

I hope he lives as long as he can be happy and productive.  Once he can no longer be happy and productive, I hope God takes him.  It was a shame to see how long Ronald Reagan lived with his mind totally gone.

The question is, does he beat Hoover as longest-lived President after leaving office?  Because that would be an accomplishment.

Yeah, he outlives Reagan. Unsure about beating Hoover's record.

That was longest time lived after the Presidency, right?

I hope Ford lives a long and pleasent life.  He is a great person (despite his pardon of the tricky one).

Put down the left wing propaganda. LBJ was 10 times worse then Nixon.

It will be Ford for the Oldest ex-president, but Hoover's 30-31 year record will stand.

He's been ill lately, hasn't he?  Whenever all the former Presidents have there little get togethers, if I remember correctly, lately, Ford has been unable to attend them.

Or am I hallucinating?

Let's see, he'll need to live until around 2008 to beat Hoover's record?  He could probably do it.  But I agree that Clinton should be able to live till around 2032 and beat the record as well.

Carter could beat Hoover's record. He's getting a bit frail, but he has 24 1/2 years down.

You are correct.  Gerald Ford attended Ronald Reagan's funeral, but I haven't seen him in public since then.  I think he's pretty frail.  He had a minor stroke at the 2000 Republican Convention, and did not attend the 2004 convention.

I doubt Clinton will live that long.  He aged unbelievably after his heart bypass.  To me, he looks like a different man.  It reminds me of another man I used to work with, who aged the same way after he had a heart attack.  When he came back to work, he looked like a totally different person.  That kind of rapid aging doesn't bode well for longevity.

Obviously the President who did not realize that the USSR controlled Eastern European can't believe that someone even stupider is President.

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

Well today (July 14, 2005) is his 92nd Birthday.

I saw almost nothing in the news about this, whenever Ronald Reagan had a birthday they always talked about it in his last few years.  We have been told very little about the current state of Ford's health on the other hand.

It's a shame that Kucinich's marriage is getting more press than Gerald Ford's birthday.

Well, here's to Gerald Ford's health.  May he live long and prosper Smiley

Let's put this into perspective; when Gerald Ford left office, the original Star Wars had not premiered.  His presidency, is not not exactly in the news.
