And here's New York.

Pretty sure RFK won last time, I know definitively that I'm for Javits.

As for worst, easily Buckley.

I don't think Jfern cares about any subforum besides the 2016 election one, so we're safe.

I didn't vote for DPM (my vote was Javits/Buckley) but it's rather absurd that he has only two votes.

So I assume we are not voting on the basis of how good or bad these people were at being, you know, senators?

Of course not. I mean Obama won for Illinois despite only 4 years of voting present on anything controversial.

Wasn't Clinton actually a good Senator for New York? I mean she served a whole time (something Obama didn't+ Clinton would have had a good shot in 2004) She got the 9/11 compensation for first respondents didn't she?

I could imagine an Iraq War hawk, pro-PATRIOT Act, left winger who doesn't mind corporatism and who thinks that media censorship is good thinking that Hillary Clinton was a good senator.

So, no, Hillary Clinton was not a good senator.

That sounds like my kind of left-winger.

Yeah, DPM was pretty obviously the second best Senator. RFK didn't have enough time to do much, but even so he is the third best.

Hillary achieved little as Senator. She was basically a-presidential-candidate-in-waiting.

Kennedy was a no-record Senator with similar candidate-in-waiting trait.

I dislike Schumer but, in terms of effectiveness as Senator, he's the best one, so Schumer/Buckley.

RFK gave his speech on nuclear proliferation in 1965, demanded gun control in 1965, and got the redevelopment program started in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. That's not even mentioning his foreign policy on South Africa and Vietnam.

Don't forget that the FBI, under Hoover, mentioned something about them hoping someone killed RFK.

Moynihan played a role in defeating the 1994 health care reform.
