Okay, ninth round is over and we've done some good weeding out.  Andrew Johnson, Lyndon Johnson, Levi Morton and Dick Cheney have been voted off.

 Same rules as Presidential Survivor.
Round 10 ends at 6 am on Sunday(eastern time) since I'm working the graveyard shift.  Tell your friends about this game. No changing votes, yadda, yadda...

Also, your opinions matter. I was wondering what you guys think about last round, if I should keep this game simple or mix it up a bit like last round?  Any feedback along with your vote is appreciated.

Millard Fillmore.

As to the poll questions, I sort of liked the idea but not the exact way it was done.
How about having people vote for a bracket, but having every vp included in two different (or even three different) brackets...and eliminating the actual two or three vps to get the most votes. That would be cool.

Because as Governor of Massachusettes he so deformed a Congressional District to benefit his party that it resembled, to some, a salmander. Thus the word "Gerrymander" was born.

Elbridge Gerry, some of us might have gotten your name mixed up, but that doesn't mean that you can gerrymander your way out of this one.  You're off the island.

Gerry "Salamander" Elbridge.
Elbridge Gerry was governor of Massachusetts before he became Vice President (he also signed the Declaration of Independence, was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention but did not sign, and was elected to the US Senate).  When he governor, the state senate was redistricted, such that the Democrats won 29 of 40 seats with slightly less than 1/2 the vote.

A political cartoon portrayed one of the districts as a winged-salamander, which was dubbed a Gerry-mander after the governor.  Note that much of the shape of the district is due to natural geographic features.  The crooked neck of the beast follows the Merrimack River which parallels the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border, with the mouth of the monster corresponding to the mouth of the river.  The claws correspond to headlands in Marblehead.

Gerry was the first Vice President to die while in office.  If President Madison had also died, a new election would have been held.
