GREAT, NOT PERFECT
1) Bernie Sanders - a little too much of a dinosaur/protectionist on a few policy issues.  Has actual principles.  Fighting the good fight.

THE SPIRIT IS WILLING, BUT THE DEMOCRATIC FLESH IS WEAK
2) John Kerry - a big doofus who did a good job as sec of state and means well
3) Ron Wyden - A big hero on privacy issues, maybe a little too right-wing
4) Barack Obama - A little too hawkish on foreign policy, and unconstitutionally assassinated American citizens and children with his drone program (jaw dropping for a conlaw professor).  Too friendly with corporations, too right wing on the welfare state and economic regulation (I don't mind him on trade).  Buys into the David Brooks "mature adult" we need to cut social security and taxes bullcrap.  Could be worse on foreign policy though, and managed to get some things done that weren't spectacular but were certainly a step in the right direction.
5) Hillary Clinton - used to be better than Barack on the welfare state, she's being pulled in a good direction by Sanders, time will tell.  Has the possibility to jump up this ranking if she gets good stuff done or helps to fix a broken system.  Very bloodthirsty instincts though, gets all her money from the power rangers guy which is a troublingly hawkish omen.

OVERRATED DEMOCRATS
6) Bill Clinton - embodies where the Democratic party when wrong and in fact helped it get there.  Talented politician
7) Chuck Schumer - asshole in the pocket of big finance and aipac

HEY, I'VE SEEN WORSE REPUBLICANS
Cool George HW Bush - Other than Eisenhower of course, the best modern Republican Prez
9) Joe Lieberman - bloodthirsty finance tool who hates video games
10) John Kasich - corporate stooge masquerading as nice guy moderate
11) Mitt Romney - corporate stooge masquerading as nice guy moderate

AYN RAND TIER
12) Ronald Reagan - senile old guy who did okay when he let James A Baker run the country for him, absymal when he let Don T Regan run the country for him, and became an avatar for an extremely destructive ideology of muh small government.
13) Paul Ryan - made his staffers read Ayn Rand, obsessed with cutting stuff.  Need I really say much more?  Packages his odious ideology in the guise of "serious adulthood" and "moderation."

CRAZY PERSON
14) Donald Trump - very tough to rank, because he's such a wild card, but just going off of his complete and utter ignorance I'll put him here, but has a lot of room to move.  He could be like the people in the above R tiers or people, mostly doing what his rice crispies tell him, or possibly as bad as the complete disaster below him.

THE LITERAL WORST EVER
15) George W Bush - Intellectually lazy jackass who let evil men run the country, resulting in thousands of dead and wounded troops, hundreds of thousands of innocent dead Iraqi civilians, trillions of dollars wasted, the rise of Isis, bismirched American honor due to his torture program, and helped Clinton and Republicans lead us into a crash that wiped out pensions and destroyed the livelihoods of millions.  One of the worst Presidents in history, and proof that just because someone is a nice guy, they aren't necessarily a good Prez.

John Kasich has experienced quite the dramatic turnaround. To think - ahead of Reagan. Wow. A year ago, he would've been 13th. What a guy! If only he ate properly. Then he might be top tier
