When looking at those Election Day exit polls (state after state and nationwide), will it be Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton who does a better job holding up same-party identifiers' votes? That will also tell us who won over more crossover voters? And which of the two parties will have more self-identifiers for the size of overall U.S. Popular Vote? And, after that, who ends up winning the self-identified independents?
If 2016 results in a Democratic hold of the presidency, for a third consecutive cycle, and Hillary Clinton wins nationally by +10 (maybe more)…that will answer a lot.
