Meaning, based on your thoughts on the elections that you can remember, how would you have voted in every election up until now?

1996: Abstain (too young to remember)
2000: Abstain in primary, Gore in general
2004: Abstain in primary, Kerry in general
2008: Obama in primary, Obama in general
2012: not sure about the primary, Obama in general
2016: Sanders in primary, Clinton in general (although I'm old enough now)

1996: don't remember thankfully
2000: Bush cuz I like elephants and the colour red lol (1st grade, obviously not in my present state of mind where Gore is best)
2004: Bush either way (Edwards in the primary of course either way)
2008: McCain (Obama in my present mindset); Giuliani/Huckabee or Edwards in the primary and the nominees if those had dropped out.
2012: Obama all the way, but to cause havoc - I flirted with Huntsman until his dropout when it was kind of Santorum/Gingrich as a #NeverRomney
2016: Christie in the primary, Trump in the general

1996: Abstain (don't remember) probably Clinton
2000: Abstain in primary, Bush in the general (how I voted in our school's mock election in 1st grade)
2004: Clark in primary, Kerry in the general
2008: Clinton in primary, Obama in the general
2012: Cross over to vote for Paul for the primary (I didn't support him, but I thought he'd make for a more interesting general than Romney) Obama in the general
2016: Clinton in primary and general

1988: Don't remember, Dukakis in hindsight
1992: Wasn't aware, Clinton in hindsight
1996: Rooted for Dole, Clinton in hindsight
1996: Gore
2000: Kerry (but preferred Howard Dean)
2008: Voted Obama IRL, would happily do so again
2012: Same as 2008
2016: Will vote for Hillary in Tuesday's primary, and again in the general election

Starting in 1996, I would have voted Republican in each general election, with or without hindsight.

As for the primaries, I would have voted for Dole ('96), Bush ('00) and Romney ('08). With hindsight, I may have potentially voted for McCain in '00, though I'm not familiar enough with that primary race.

1996: Clinton
2000: Nader
2004: Edwards in the primary, I think I was a Cobb supporter in the GE?  (I could look at my post history for this if I felt like it Tongue )

I actually voted in 2008.

2000: Abstain (wasn't old enough to remember)
2004: Bush because my parents supported him.
2008: This is the first election I heavily followed. I supported Obama.
2012: I supported Ron Paul in the primaries. I was undecided between Willard "Mitt" Romney and Gary Johnson for the GE.
2016: I voted for John Kasich in the primaries. I plan on voting for Hillary over Donald Trump in November.

2000: I don't remember, although I did like elephants for some reason, so maybe Bush. Tongue
2004: I didn't pay attention to politics, so probably Bush since I know my dad was a Republican.

2012: I think I actually supported Gingrich in the primaries, I know I would have voted for Romney in the general election.
2016: Kasich in the primaries, Johnson in the general.

1996: too young
2000: Gore, because my parents were against Bush
2004: Kerry, because my parents were against Bush
2008: Obama; I was developing my own political views at this point, but no normal 15-year old Dutch kid supported McCain, even among right-wingers, and all the Dutch media are anti-Republican, so...
2012: The election in which I started following American politics closely. R primary Gingrich, general Romney.
2016: R primary Rubio, and the general... I'd probably vote Trump while holding my nose if I were American, but I'm glad I don't have to. Might have voted for Petersen in non-swing-states if I were American and if he were the nominee, but alas...

oh i used the wrong colors, but too lazy to change
EDIT: Thanks, Cathcon, for editing the colors for me!

1992: Was a fetus
1996: Too young, knew nothing about politics
2000: Too young, knew nothing about politics
2004: Kerry (for the entirely shallow reason of "Bush is dumb", I was 11)
2008 primary: Clinton
2008 general: Obama

I actually did vote for Obama in 2012, and did/will vote for Clinton in 2016.

1992 GE: Fetus
1994 Mid-term: Too young
1996 GE: Too young
1998 Mid-term: Too  young
2000 GE: Still too young
2002 Mid-term: Still too young
2003 Recall: No, Davis  (Obviously now Camejo or McClintock would be my choices, but I only knew that it seemed silly to ax the current guy and for an actor to run back then)
2004 GE Kerry
2006 Mid-terms: Angelides for Govenor, Feinstein for Senate
2008: Clinton [primary], Obama [general]
2010 Mid-terms: Brown for Governor, Boxer for Senate

Became voting age literally two months after 2010, so anything this decade afterwards is irrelevant to the question.

President
1996: Only 3, didn't care about politics
2000: George W. Bush
2004: George W. Bush
2008: John McCain
2012: Mitt Romney (actual vote)

Governor of Michigan
1994: Only a year old
1998: Only 5; see 1996 president
2002: Dick Posthumus
2006: Dick DeVos
2010: Rick Snyder
2014: Rick Snyder (actual vote)

While we're on the subject, getting rid of the voting age IRL is an obviously stupid thing to do.

Presidential:

1990: I don't remember it, because I was barely two and a half, but my family endlessly reminds me I was very loud in articulating my support for Wałęsa.

1995: I cried when Wałęsa lost, so I'd certainly vote him.

2000: Aleksander Kwaśniewski.

2005: Marek Borowski (first round), Donald Tusk (second round)

Parliamentary, I'd probably vote SLD each election. 1997 was the first parliamentary election I can recall.

2000: Gore

2008: Obama in the Primary and GE
2012: Obama
2016: Sanders in the Primary, will vote for Clinton in the GE.
