It sounds like this year if Trump doesn't get the nomination. 

I think Wilson would have still won.  It's likely that much of TR's support would have split between Wilson, Taft, and Debs (who may have received 10-12% of the popular vote if it were a 3 way race).

It depends. Does Taft change running-mates to Hughes to get support from progressives? Does he change to Fairbanks to keep Roosevelt supporters in line? Or what?
