Politico says Clinton will announce her pick on Friday in Florida:

Inb4 the Bill Nelson hype.

Nelson is probably too old to be Clinton's VP. He may retire in 2018. If it's Nelson, he seals Florida for her and he is ready to be president on Day One. He probably should have ran for governor in 2014.

A good dark horse VP choice would be former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson. He's Hispanic, but more qualified than Castro, Perez, and Becerra. He has good foreign policy experience and he governed a state. Plus, the Clintons should put the 2008 endorsement of Obama behind them.

isn't he, like, corrupt as heck, though?

Yeah, there are some issues there.

Yeah, a little, but he's experienced. He could be ready to be president on Day One.

Clinton's not picking a washed-up has-been who has been out of public life for five years and is nearly as old as she is.
Maybe Richardson for Secretary of State or UN ambassador?
Clinton will probably want Susan Rice, Victoria Nuland, and Ashton Carter checked for the former. For the latter, Caroline Kennedy, James Stavridis, and Avril Haines will probably be on the shortlist.

Richardson is an old has-been who just wanted Secretary of State under Obama.

Historically their is little significance where a running mate is announced.
Edwards was announced in Pennsylvania
Biden was announced in Illinois
Ryan was announced in Virginia
Not sure where Palin was announced but I am fairly certain it was not in Alaska. So I would not read to much in to news that suggests Clinton will reveal her pick in Florida. Anyways I am still thinking it will be Tim Kain.

Could Evan Bayh be a dark horse pick?  Indiana law allows you to run for two federal offices.

Is there actually a reason for Hilary to not offer the job to John Kerry again if he wants it? He seems to actually enjoy being SoS and has been pretty decent at it.

I could see Kerry, Biden, Richardson, or even Susan Rice, or Jake Sullivan as Secretary of State.

For his sake, I hope Biden can just ride off into the retirement sunset. He would have been a great SoS, but I think the dude needs a break.

I hope it's Franken, but that seems unlikely.

The man seems like the best overall choice and I love his SNL career. He's the perfect guy to attack Trump.

OMG - imagine a Franken v Pence debate!

I'd LOVE for it to be him, but there's not been even a whisper of him being considered.

If I were Clinton, I'd have a dark horse like him up my sleeve and selectively report on vetting.

O'Malley is campaigning for Hillary in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and New Hampshire.

Don't think Hillary has the best relationship with Susan Rice.

I'd love Jake Sullivan as SoS because under Obama the White House has become way too distanced from the Departments, particularly State. Sullivan, as Clinton's closest Foreign Policy advisor, would bring the two closer together. Only problem is his lack of credentials. No elected office nor high profile National Security role like Condoleeza Rice, even though he was a big player in Hillary's State Department+ was Biden's NS advisor. May have difficulty during confirmation.

Warren, originally listed as Monday night's Keynote Speaker, is now suddenly missing from the line-up provided by Politico.

Warren was doing the keynote?

That article just seems to have the really really big guns plus some weird one-offs.  I mean Warren's big but she's not Sanders or a prez/vp/flotus.

Uhhhh.

In DC, Warren is still bigger than Sanders.

Among the Progs, she's basically equal to Bernie (short of the Bernie Bros, but they aren't politically relevant)

Among the Dem establishment, she's seen as the prog ambassador, and is a Senatorial rising star.

Where have you been the past four years?

Seeing Trump and Warren's recent Twitter back and forth, I think Warren is the best pick. In the most recent CNN poll, young voters are choosing Johnson and and Stein at high levels, much more than olds, so having her on the ticket will create a lot of enthusiasm and support for the ticket among youngs. But Trump constantly calling her Pocahontas and a fraud is the best opening for her to bring up his Trump University and real estate frauds, as she did on Twitter, and it only exposes him more. I think the small drop off among center/center-right Hillary voters is worth it because I think most of them can be won back in due time.
