Wonder if that will change the minds of Lief or the other leftists who say Drumpf is such a great moderate?

Oh wait, no, they're already defending a guy who beats up women.

Um, you know that Lief is joking, right?
Unless you believed that he was a Gingrich supporter in 2012 too.

I used to believe those draconian policies while, I don't now but, I was in a very pro-death penalty and dark part of my life and believed in the death penalty for many crimes including minor ones. But over the winter, I have the winter, I have become more churchgoing and believe that we should love all people regardless of their mistakes in life, like having an abortion but I still believe that people that illegally preform an abortion should be executed or other hard punishment.

I used to support very harsh punishments for women who have abortions a la beheading and other cruel punishment. But, I don't support those views now and support a large fine while abortion doctors should be tried for murder.

Just so we make this clear: This is not representative of a majority of Pro-Lifers.

What, the majority believes that women who get abortions should instead be hanged, drawn and quartered?

You and I both know you are being ridiculous and hyperbolic right now. I am not known for holding insane positions. I am Pro-Life and do not support any violence done to pro-choice women or abortionists. I say this not in spite of being pro-life, but because I am pro-life.

Nicely said, Sunrise!  There has to be a punishment for women who get abortions, but a short jail sentence is probably enough.  The doctors need to be tried for countless first-degree murders, of course!!

there doesn't have to be a punishment for either

i think instead we should jail and possibly execute anybody who suggests punishment for women who have abortions or the doctors who provide the service

I am pro-life and I don't endorse a word that the orange fraud said. You go after those that perform them, not women. You do not punish women for it.

Trump needs to stop pretending to be a Republican.

While we're on the topic of camps and executions, I hope Trump does something about all those people who disagree with me on anything.

March for Life issued a statement:

"No pro-lifer would ever want to punish a woman who has chosen abortion."

"Women who have chosen abortion need healing & compassion, not punishment."

This is the logical outcome of the pro-life movement.

There should be no punishment for women who have abortions. Let G-d, mother nature, whatever you believe in do the judging for that. This is the only real pro-life response on this.

I want abortion banned, and I am passionately pro-life, but the women who feel like its their only option are not bad people (excluding exceptions like women who've had like 5 abortions since they are like <1% of people). It is our job, as sane human beings, to help women, whether they are pro-life and pro-choice....not hurt them.

However, I do believe Abortionists should lose their medical licenses and be fined.

Nobody but his most hardcore supporters will believe this.  "Hasn't changed?"  Give me a break.  It's on video.

This is basically the logical extension of making abortion illegal in the first place.

EDIT: I don't agree, just pointing it out.

How is that any better?

How disgusting.

But I must ask - How do some pro-lifers justify calling abortion murder while letting women, who seek out the abortion, off the hook? If abortion really is murder to them, then a woman seeking an abortion doctor is almost exactly like, say, a wife seeking a contract killer to snuff out her husband.

That logic doesn't really add up for me Smiley

Because women who seek abortions usually have much more sympathetic motivations, and because, if we're being honest about what sorts of laws a decent society would or should actually tolerate, punishing them is simply impracticable to do in any way that's subjectively reasonable.

I guess, but I still think the people who want to ban abortion but don't want to punish the women should not call abortion murder if they don't intend to punish the woman. It's hypocritical. Why call it murder if you don't intend to treat it like murder?

Though, I'm not sure how many people hold that position, either. There was a poll on this forum regarding this and iirc, most, if not all people who wanted abortion banned said there should be some sort of punishment for the woman and doctor, going as high as 1st/2nd degree murder.

Fixed it I noticed that both of us identify as Republicans, and because your views don't exactly match mine, I, as the arbiter of conservatism, have decided that you're obviously not a Republican

OMG, having a differing opinion makes me a RINO, you conservatives are HILARIOUS don't ya know?

I know many of you on the hyper-conservative end of the party want to morph the GOP into this far-right ideological loony bin and have us lose election after election, but I am as Republican as you who happens to be VERY socially liberal.
