Scenario 1:

Let's assume VdB wins the first round on April 24 with ca. 26%, followed by Hofer with 24% and everyone else below 20%.

How do you vote in the runoff ?

Scenario 2:

Let's assume VdB wins the first round on April 24 with ca. 26%, followed by Griss with 24% and everyone else below 20%.

How do you vote in the runoff ?

Irmgard Griss is a former Austrian Supreme Court judge and Chief Justice of that court as well as a Professor of Law at Graz University. She's married and has 5 kids. She was born in a poor farmer's family and worked her way up to the highest ranks of the judicial branch, also studying at Harvard and getting a Master of Laws there.

She then led the Hypo bad bank investigation committee which was set up by the Austrian government (SPÖVP), but in her final report she did not report "favourably" about their conduct but was really critical of them - which underscored her independence.

In the refugee crisis (there are not many other hot-button issues debated right now for the Presidential race), she is very centrist and common sense - favouring a European solution to the crisis but also favours national steps to protect the border, to register all incoming refugees, make asylum decisions quicker and calls for swifter deportations of criminal foreigners. Pretty much what the constitution calls for.

She's a strong supporter of the EU (but with reforms) and is center-left on social issues, such as gay marriage and adoptions (which she fully supports). But most issues in this race are about how the future President should act in office and not about social or economic issues (that's mostly for the parties).

Van der Bellen in the first scenario. I'm not sure about the second. What are Van der Bellen's positions?
