Hi! I'm Lieutenant Governor Smith, and as of today, I am the chief editor of the Northeastern Times, a new newspaper dedicated to everything Northeast. We will have new issues every day!

Is this the official newspaper of the Northeast, as mandated by the Northeast laws?

No; this is an unofficial newspaper (at least for now, as I am unsure if the Northeast Chronicle is still active).

BIPARTISAN TOUR OF THE PACIFIC BEGINS

Governor Bessell, Governor Leinad, Speaker Haslam, Lt. Governor Smith, and others arrive in San Francisco.

Tonight, several politicians, Labor and Federalist, will be arriving in the Pacific region to visit areas affected by ISIS. The group plans to start their journey by visiting a mosque in San Francisco tomorrow morning, and journey through other cities such as Barstow, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and San Diego. The tour ends Sunday.

DOCUMENTARY ON FEBRUARY ELECTIONS ANNOUNCED

Famed Atlasian director David Hardin recently announced that he is in the process of creating a documentary focusing on the presidential election in February. Although it is known that the film will mostly focus on the campaign of Adam Griffin, most details are currently unknown. The documentary will likely be released later this year.

BREAKING NEWS!

Reports have come in that at about 4:30 this morning, a Muslim man was found dead in a New York alleyway. Although the man had likely died earlier in the night at a different location, it is likely that anti-Muslim extremists had a part to play in this, as said alleyway was decorated with graffiti related to the 'Jimbo' alias that anti-Muslim extremists regularly use. Police are currently investigating the scene.

GUBERNATORIAL RACE RATINGS

SOUTH

Although there was plenty of speculation early on about candidates such as Assemblyman Pingvin, Secretary of State Classic Conservative, former governor Flo, and assembly candidate Southern Gothic, the field seems to have mostly been cleared for Speaker Haslam2020. Due to the fact that it seems likely that he will be unopposed, we are rating this race SAFE FEDERALIST.

PACIFIC

This race only started recently, and Governor Bessell still hasn't officially kicked off his reelection campaign. Since we don't know if Bessell will be challenged this early, we are rating this race LIKELY FEDERALIST, but we'll likely move it to safely Federalist soon.

I agree with those ratings, although Legislator Steelers is very much a hypothetical candidate for the South Governorship--while I still think Haslam's objectively the favorite, it would obviously be somewhat harder should he have an opponent. (The Captain Obvious nature of that statement is intentional.)
