The election 1824, is awaiting for the American public to vote for, four candidates to vote from, four choices to choose for, what is the direction of this new republic.
John Q. Adams
Representative of the North-East and New England, he is backed by business and commercial interests. He is campaigning on his opposition to the expansion of the slavery. He supports internal improvement, and Hamiltonian economics with tariff to american business and build up the nation. He strongly supports American Republicanism and Nationalism. He is also supporter of the expansion of education, as well as the developments of arts and science financed by the government.
Andrew Jackson
An American Populist, strongly opposed to the second bank of the US, which he belives is used for the profit of the north, and big business interests. Strongly opposed to tarrifs, which he believes helps merchants in the north-east, at the expense of the people. He instead envisions a republic of small-scale independent farmers, like the Jefferson Ideal. Pointing to his status as a military hero, he supports the commission of native land, to be settled by white settlers. A strong democrat, he supports universal suffrage, removing property restrictions, and allowing the democratic process to shrine on America.
William H. Crawford
Campaigning as a stable candidate, against other radicals, who can continue unite the country, under the era of good feelings. He is supportive of small government and state's rights, although he is supportive of tariffs and the national bank. Unfortunately he is paralyzed by a stroke and not well, as well as his former running mate withdrew due to his lack of support, though his campaign is based on his sound records as Secretary of treasury and war
Henry Clay
An American Hawk and nationalist, closest ideologically to John Quincy Adams, he supports nationalist politics, as well as comprise on issues, that threaten the republic. Anti-British, he supports Independence movements, and a strong national government, with the power to collect revenue, carry out internal movements and protect business. He is criticized due to his immoral behaviour, and supported out west, due to his support of the american system.
Which president do you want? The choice is yours.
