In 2016 Donald Trump narrowly defeates Hillary Clinton by getting to her left on trade and winning Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. As president his behavior almost immediately borders on megalomaniacal as he staffs the justice department with attorney's close to him and threatens libel lawsuits against news organizations that write critically of him. When the lawsuits are laughed out of court he mocks the judge who did so on national TV. After passing his sweeping immigration bill hate crimes skyrocket and attempts to hold national protests against him lead to hundreds of deaths. In 2020 labor secretary and Hillary Clinton's runningmate Tom Perez emerges out of a crowded Democratic field to challenge him. What does the election look like?

The scenario you present would likely result in a Trump defeat. 300+ for Perez and a 53-45 popular vote win.
