Partly due to legal wranglings of whether Da'esh's actions count because it is not technically a state, and genocides are often defined as having support (overt or covert) from a government.

Many Christians like to play the victim card and talk about how persecuted they are while they persecute others. They think it's all about them and care not if other groups are persecuted. They think the world revolves around Christians.

Because the United States was more concerned about undermining Assad than doing anything about ISIS.

worth noting that Middle Eastern Christians bare very little resemblance to any strain of Christianity found in the States, btw.

Oh I'm sure.

Christians who cry how persecuted they are in the U.S. greatly disrespect real Christian persecution when believers of Christ are slaughtered on the other side of the world.

Very few people have ever suggested that.

Many Middle Eastern Christians are Catholic and there are many Orthodox Christians in the US (even if mostly Greek and Russian Orthodox than Middle Eastern)

I know that what I am about to say hinges on one of your least favorite words, but Middle Eastern Catholics are culturally very different from most Catholics in the United States (with some exceptions among Lebanese-Americans et cetera). I suspect the same is true of the Orthodox Christians.

Well both the 'Catholic' and 'Orthodox' wings of Syriac Christianity are Nestorian so...

Could it possibly be that the far left progressive crowd wants to make America a Muslim 1st nation?    What is happening to Christians over there is extremely sad and its get almost zero attention.  Trump says lets ban extremist Muslims from entering and the left and MSM goes ape sh**t.

As far as I know, the far left doesn't give a damn about Christians in the Middle East.

And why hasn't something actually been done yet about ISIS?

No one gives a damn about Christians in the Middle East. The American right is feed them to the sharks just as regulary as the left does. There's a whole lot of reasons for that.

Why would anybody in the West sacrifice soldiers to deal with them? They never had a realistic chance of surviving long term, their failure to conquer anything other than Upper Mesopotania showed that while they was problematic their long term survival chance was close to nil. The population of the area which ISIS controlled at their height was 8 millions (6 in Iraq and 2 in Syria). As comparison 10 million people live in regime controlled areas of Syria, while the Iraq goverment kept control over more than 20 millions Iraqis.
