Wow 79% approval!?!

OH has to go to Kasich!

Among Republican primary voters.

Yes, but those include both Republicans and independents. In the poll, his approval with just Republicans is higher, at 83%!

Who would be your second choice?

Kasich 21%
Rubio 19%
Cruz 17%
Trump 12%

Are there any Republican candidates who you would refuse to vote for in the general election?

Trump 26%
Cruz 11%
Rubio 10%
Kasich 6%

Do you approve of the job John Kasich is doing as governor?
approve 79%
disapprove 15%

Hard to see him lose with an approval rating like that...jesus.

Keep in mind, this is only Republican primary voters being polled.  Obviously if you polled all voters, his approval number wouldn't be so high.

He has about a 45% approval rating from the Democrats. IIRC, Kasich has a 64%~ app. rating on average. He has great appeal to Midwestern/Rust Belt/Virginian suburbanites, which makes him dangerous to Dems in IA, MN, OH, PA, and VA.

Here is thought: could the independents prefer to vote for Kasich in the Republican primary rather than Sanders in the Democratic one, thus hurting Sanders' chances for an upset?
I know, both of them are competitive. But the Kasich-TRUMP showdown could decide if there is a brokered convention and Kasich, besides being a favorite son, is pretty popular among independents anyway.

Yep, I'm pretty sure Kasich will win OH by a comfortable margin.

This is a good poll for Kasich, but if he only barely wins Ohio after placing third in Michigan, where does he go from there? Pennsylvania? I really don't see any other plausible wins for him, never mind a path to the nomination.

Nobody believes he has a path to the nomination, not even Kasich himself. It's all about a brokered convention now.

The problem is that if he can't get more wins than just Ohio, and is very far behind in delegates, he doesn't have a very strong case that he should be the nominee, even if Rubio drops out.

But.

*folksy ohio voice*

if we win ohio, it's gunna be a whole new bawl game.

I really wish I could like this post on here

Yeah Kasich will proabably win his home state. A state were he's been active in politics for over 20 years. Lol.

It wont matter, since its gona be all he gets. Trump will easily win Florida and North Carolina.
