So, I'm back from the Kasich event, where I made it to the front row and managed to take a picture with the Governor. Off the top of my head, looks like polls in Michigan were basically correct in forecasting the trump defeat in that state, even as trump notched a rare win in Mississippi, though he yet again failed to cross the 50% barrier in a state. Idaho went about as expected as well; we'll have to await results from Hawaii. Looks like trump won the delegate plurality tonight, not Cruz, but failed to come anywhere near a majority.

What did the governor say in his speech?  Did he sound upset?

He was confident he would come in second in MI, talked about how the election was coming around to his turf and asking us to campaign for him. Joked about the OH vs. MI rivalry ("this is the one day we like Michigan"). Talked about people he'd met in various town halls, how much he was going to accomplish during his first 100 days, and how his campaign was going to win OH a week from now. It was a pretty boilerplate speech, honestly. In my maybe 10 seconds of interacting with him one-on-one he came off as pretty irascible, though.

A shot of GOP headquarters in Honolulu as they wait for the precincts to report them:

Guy on CNN reporting that the Stop Trump movement want Kasich and Rubio to stay in the race regardless if they win their home states just so they can win some delegates in proportional states. The theory being they can hold him below the delegate majority.

That sounds like an utterly ridiculous idea.  There may be few states that are statewide WTA, but there are plenty that are at least WTA by congressional district.  Kasich and Rubio share too many potential supporters.  They'll get in each other's way if they both stay in.  #NeverTrump would benefit if Rubio drops out after the 15th, because the bulk of his support would go to either Cruz or Kasich.

I agree.  The thing about the Establishment and Never Trump movement is over 20 states have voted and they still don't have a candidate.  They became paralyzed going into NH which is the point in time when they could have rallied and taken down Trump.

Another video of voters entering a GOP caucus site in Hawaii, in case anyone wants to make random guesses based on the demographics:

No clue.  The Hawaii GOP website links to the AP results map for results.  Maybe they contracted with the AP to handle results, like one earlier state whose name escapes me right now?

No word yet on when we'll get that 808 bump, and whether it will, or will not, make us put our hands up.

I'm probably way off, but it looks maybe 78-80% white, 20-22% Asian.

When can we expect the Hawaii results to start trickling in? Caucus states being what they are, this could take long.

I checked the results thread from four years ago:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=150636.msg3232071#msg3232071

Results from Hawaii started coming in at about 35 minutes after the hour.  No idea if that'll happen again this time.

I really don't know what to expect from Hawaii.  There are quite a few Mormons who might go for Rubio or for Cruz if they think Rubio is done.  Trump has done business there so he might have support, on the other hand some non-white voters might be offended by his comments regarding immigrants as well as his comments about China.

The Hawaii GOP said that anyone still in line at 8pm would be allowed to vote.

Trump winning in Kauai County.

People cannot forget how good Trump is with military folks/veterans and Hawaii is full of them.

A crude projection would give Trump LP and Rubio UP.

As I now see Kasich no longer has a shot at the nomination and Trump will probably win even before the convention, I shift my support to Clinton. I want to tell the GOP to get their **** together and the only way for that to happen is for Trump to be destroyed in the general election.

This reality makes no sense anymore.
