is it really true or just half true? I mean I read a death row blog called MinutesBeforeSix and the guy on there (Thomas Whitaker) has said that he is the only white guy that he knows that would, if he could vote, go for Obama. Even if its true that prisoners would be democrats otherwise, couldn't it be a function that prisoners are heavily black and hispanic?

Prisoners are disproportionately poor, minorities, and young.  Of course they are also overwhelmingly male.  Partisan support is obviously Democrat overall but I'm sure there is some regional variation. 

Felon disenfranchisement 100% hurts Democrats, though.
