At 5pm, the networks will be given access to the early exit poll numbers.  So some time between about 5:10 and 5:30pm or so, we’ll start getting news reports from them about things like what percentage of the voters are Independents, what the top issues on voters’ minds are, etc.  But they’ll withhold the topline numbers (who is winning the exit poll) until all the polls have closed in a given state.

I don’t know if they’ll be doing an entrance poll for the caucus states.

Cross-posting from the other thread:

Here is the current weather map:

Things look good in most of the US, with the exception of the giant yellow dagger stabbing through the heart of Oklahoma.  Maybe that represents Native American ancestors stabbing the modern American government (as expressed via voting on Super Tuesday) across the spacetime continuum?

It looks like 8:00 will be really telling. MA, OK, and MN all begin reporting results.

I was voter #130 at my 85% Dem precinct, where I expect Bernie to run strong, and the new voting machines now offer projected turnout. They project 590 voters, which compares to 1657 in the 2012 General Election. Unfortunately I can't find the 2008 primary election results online, needless to say those won't be matched.

Hillary campaigning in Minnesota today - change in her schedule. I guess they sense an opening there now.

She must be feeling more confident about MA and OK. If she wins those + the SEC, it's all over and then some.

I'm thinking the night will be decided in the media's mind before we get any meaningful results from Colorado.

Everyone keeps expecting this. What if he wins VT, MN, CO, OK and MA? He can spin that and drive momentum his way. He'll be down in delegates, yes, but the narrative will be Clinton could not put Sanders away. Meanwhile he goes on to win KS, NE and ME this weekend. He keeps collecting money, keeps driving issues left, keeps racking up delegates and keeps the race going.

In this scenario he plays  Hillary from 2008. He runs till June, but everyone know's he's not going to be the nominee.

Will TX start reporting results beginning at 8pm ET for the huge majority of the state that closes then or will it wait to report any results until 9pm ET when voting has fully concluded throughout the state?

TX will probably start reporting at 7:00 CST, but may not be called until after El Paso closes an hour later.

I know this is probably covered in Erc's thread, but thought I'd give a snapshot here:

At 6:00 pm CT we have 224 delegates closing including American Samoa
At 7:00 pm CT we have 326 delegates closing completely
At 7:30 pm CT we have 32 delegates closing
At 8:00 pm CT we have 288 delegates closing completely

Keep that in mind during the evening.

Politico and I believe NYT get their results from AP, and are usually faster than AP at updating.

Yeah, its fine I suppose, I believe Politico lists every candidate on the ballot but NYT doesn't. As long as I can see every person on the ballot, I'm good.

BTW, NYT has a really good overview page here:
