And the money is coming in strong. $45 million is too high a goal, though.

Now over $42 million

Shame that he is going to burn it all in staff and ads in states he can't win.

I feel sorry for all those college students.  They really can't afford to be giving him this kind of money.

I'll bet anything that some of it ends up in his pocket. Of course he can't get all of it, but he'll find a way to get some of it.

And he's going to waste $40 million+, that's a sad thing. Should donate it all to charity and really help people out instead of wasting it on a failed Presidential run.

That's nothing compared to what was wasted on Jeb Bush.

He should transfer those funds to his preferred candidates in tight races. Revolutions to start from the bottom up? \_(ツ)_/¯

Nobody is asking Kasich, Rubio, or Cruz to do that even though Sanders is polling two to four times higher. They all have about the same chance of winning at this rate, too.

Or he could donate some of it to state parties.

Indeed - since he's yet to raise anything for down-ticket races.

I suspect more than Jan and more than Clinton. Probably Clinton raised less but ends month with a bit more cash.   The question is, can Sanders outraise Clinton in March once he starts falling behind and the media start talking about how he can't win

Yeah, people like Lucy Flores or John Fetterman who endorsed him could use some cash.
That is if Sanders is serious about wanting to pull the party to the left.

That means he has raised nearly $5 million today. The email I received this morning said they were sitting at $36 million for the month.

It's such a shame. I just don't understand him. It wouldn't take a whole lot of effort for him to raise a lot of money for other races. He could probably raise $5 million within a day or two just by firing of emails and making a few speeches.

My guess is he (or rather, his campaign guys) want every last dime going into their campaign, which is great and all, but pretty hypocritical for a guy who talks about a 'revolution' every 5 minutes.

**edit: well, as griffin said, he raised $5 million today? the ***k bernie?

I knew Sanders wanted to create thousands of jobs, but I didn't think he would be using college student's workstudy money to decrease unemployment through campaign payroll.

It's really sad how the Sanders scampaign preys off vulnerable and desperate unemployed people and students.  Pretty classic cult-like behavior, just extended to the masses.

That's nothing compared to what was wasted on Jeb Bush.

As of 1/31 Bernie had raised $96 million and spent $80 million (http://www.opensecrets.org/pres16/candidate.php?id=N00000528).  With this $40 million he's closing in on Jeb's 33.5 (personal) + 118.7 (Right To Rise) = 152.2 haul.
Right To Rise only spent $94.2 million though.  If Bernie spends all this money he'll overtake Bush.

Good, very good.  I'm happy for Bernie Sanders and his supporters.  The last thing I want is to have his campaign fizzle out.

If Sanders has any decency, once his campaign gets the message that it's over after tomorrow, he'll encourage his donors to to dump money into congressional and gubernatorial campaigns instead of wasting it away in a futile effort.
