I mean it's obvious from the context that this isn't a truther thing but don't let that stop the TRUMP haters from trolling.

basically this. I mean my god pay attention. It's obvious that George W. Bush literally ignored warnings, told the guys who warned him "your asses are covered", and then took all the credit for giving a speech after the disaster occurred. He was extremely negligent.

All Trump is saying here is that Iraq was not involved in 9/11, probably pushing it to support his view that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake.
I did not realise that so many people thought Iraq was involved so did not think Trump needed to say it. But with many of the people he is trying to get vote for him believing that Iraq was involved they probably also believe the war was a good thing. So getting the message out that Iraq was not involved can only help him.

Really genius. The way he says it, one group - truthers and conspiracy nuts - will hear what they want to hear ("OMG he believes it too!").

In reality, all he has said is something honest: that Iraqis didn't knock down the twin towers and that many of the individuals involved with 9/11 were in fact Saudi nationals. This allows him to say something to the effect of, "nothing I said was incorrect".
