Change from Last Opinion Savvy Poll: (about a month ago)
Kasich — +6
Trump — +4
Rubio — +4
Cruz — +2 (don't know what you're looking at, but it says Cruz is at 19.6 for me)
Bush — -3
Carson — -4

Can you please change the title of this thing to "Re: SC-Opinion Saavy: Trump 36% Cruz 20% Rubio 15% Bush 11% Kasich 9% Carson 5%" please.

Edit: Thank You.

Trump leads evangelicals 33-23. Kasich and Rubio tie for second among non-evangelicals, both 30 points behind Trump.

OK, I changed it to 20.  The press release says 19.  But looking at the full crosstabs and everything, it says 19.6 there, which rounds to 20.

Huh. I thought it would be a bit closer. There's a bit of time for Cruz to close the gap, though.

Wow, Kasich is doing better than I thought.  If he keeps those numbers up, then I don't think either Rubio or Bush will be able to break into second.

Other than that, it's about what I expected.  I think Cruz will close the gap by the day of the primary, but it will certainly be an uphill battle for him to outright win.

Clear sign that Kasich should compete here.
If he can get up to 15%, that's a pretty clear sign to the establishment that he can compete outside of New Hampshire.
Maybe he could even beat Bush and Rubio again, and it would be game over.

If you compare this to the last poll out of SC which was the NBC/Marist poll, Cruz and Trump are unchanged, Rubio gains a point, Bush gains 2, Carson loses 3, Kasich gains 8

If they'd taken him more seriously sooner, maybe they could have stopped him in time. Now, it's probably too late...

I'm going to guess Rubio would've been in a strong second had this poll been taken a couple of days ago.

Also wow @ Kasichmentum

If it's Trump and Cruz for the top 2 spots, I wonder how do the establishment candidates plan to redeem themselves.

The only logical thing to do would be to coalesce around a SINGLE candidate, but even then it won't guarantee victory for the center-right as many Bush/Rubio supporters list TRUMP as their second choice.

Not bad result for Rubio.  As we get close to voting day there might be some tactical shifts to the strongest establishment candidate.  This vote implies that candidate is more likely to be Rubio.

Rubio's number isn't as awful as some of us had suspected it could be, but if Kasich is actually closing on double digits that is terrible news for him. It points to the same kind of non-Trump pile-up that we saw in New Hampshire, with no clear winner for the portion of the party that isn't interested in Trump or Cruz. It also suggests that much of that portion of the party remains unconvinced that Rubio is a credible candidate.

If Kasich jumps ahead of Rubio or Bush, that might completely kill their campaigns.
