Well, Fear & Loathing is naturally going to move ahead, but in the meantime the idea of hosting a BoP sequel grew enough on me to seriously consider just doing it right away. Alas, finding a suitable starting point is hard given the need to balance gameplay with player interest.

So here are the choices, in one becomes popular enough then I might as well begin this tonight or tomorrow (if you have suggestions of your own, please post them as well):

Let's do one set during the American Civil War.

That would be interesting, but I wouldn't be able to host that one. Being from Chile my knowledge on US History is limited, so I don't have the level of detail required to craft a Civil War game.

How about an 1848 game? Players would have to balance internal strife/reform and (depending on the country) either exploit other nation's weaknesses or stall/rely on allies until internal problems could be properly sorted out.

I'd be fine with either WWI or WWII. I voted WWII.

Interesting margin for 1936 so far, if this continues until tomorrow then it seems that's the choice.

Well, it's closed. We have a tie, and since I tentatively voted for 1936 I'll break it by discounting my vote. The XIX Century has won, and after doing some research I ruled against the Napoleonic Wars (due to a past similar game) and 1848 (game mechanics). We will be doing 1861, at the outbreak of the American Civil War and the opening of a decade which, in OTL, saw the rise of Prussia, the decline of Austria and quite a few significant events that made it more appealing than 1870.

As I already mentioned to Lumine, I'd reall love to see an original game continuing some years later (twenty/thirty years later would be grand). I'd be most happy if we can do it someday Cheesy
