I done gone and thought about this for a while. A timeline is currently about 20% complete, and should be started sooner rather than later.

-Ted Cruz, if he isn't the nominee/doesn't lose in a landslide to Hillary
-Paul Ryan
-Bruce Rauner, pending re-election/solving the budget issue
-Maybe Bill Haslam, if he doesn't run for Senate
-Larry Hogan, pending re-election
-Nikki Haley
-Tom Cotton, if he's willing to give up his Senate seat
-Randy, if he can get enough attention in the Senate
-Brian Sandoval
-Greg Abbott
-Maybe Walker will give it another try
-Also, maybe Mike Lee if he's interested
-Ditto that for Charlie baker, although neither seem like they want the job much
-Mike Pence, pending re-election
-Rob Portman, pending re-election
-Y'all will think I'm crazy, but Matt Bevin is extremely conservative, young, and in a prominent elected office. Keep an eye on him, either in 2020 or 2024.

I think Rauner would be a catastrophe, but I've read that he's interested in running in 2020 so I put him on the list with some prerequisites. It remains to be seen if the GOP will socially moderate enough by 2020 for Rob Portman to have a chance.

It's been more or less confirmed that Tom Cotton is running, to the point where it is now legal to run for both Senator and President and Arkansas so that Cotton can run. Amash has also hinted that he may run.

I think Rand Paul will be usurped for the Libertarian messenger by either of Raul Labrador or Justin Amash.
