Based off of the well known Alternate US States, I have decided to create The Thirty-Eight States of America, based off of the map created by George Etzel Pearcy.

Since I'm guessing you already have the data, could you say the population for each state? Or are you saving that? The 6 electoral votes suggests a population of around 3 million, but I wasn't sure if you had the exact figures.

Interesting that this state is actually less D than the real MA.  Wasn't expecting that.

East Massachusetts is actually closer to Lean D than Safe D (minus Boston). West Massachusetts, however, is very Democratic.

Hmm... New Jersylvania looks pretty okay. Maybe a Governor Ryan Costello leading what appears to be the last of the Rockefeller Republicans?

Wow, even more surprised now.  Thought Mowhawk would surely be right of Susquehana, but it turns out the latter is a perfect swing state while the former is more D than Michigan.  Also, Hudson is impressively not overly packed with D's at 65%.  Allegheny should be a swing state at worst for R's...

I think part of it is that South Jersey (i.e. the parts of NJ that align with Philly, not NYC) would be a lean GOP state, maybe.

Strange how Appalachia swung more Republican from 2004-2008. Is that the only state that did that, or was there another so far?

Not really, I assume that should be obvious. Tongue
