Pretty negative.

He isn't shy about being on the PS's right. Unlike Hollande (who I almost feel sorry for), Valls strikes me as very aware and ambitious... perhaps he wanted to takeover the party and shape it in his image (the PS's version of Sarkozy?... yikes!) IF he were not apponted Prime Minister. He hasn't done too much to help with economic situation but I don't blame him being dealt a hard hand. The plus side is that his premiership may sink his future career and it showed Les Verts as the useless fools they always are.
