“Liberty Bell March” plays in the background as Justice Ernest moonwalks to the podium.

Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I have decided that the time is noy opportune for a Democratic-Republican Party.  There simply was not a sufficient difference between it and other more established parties on the issues and insufficient  interest in its raison d’etre, preventing the formation of new Democratic or Republican parties in our fantasy republic.  Therefore, the Democratic-Republican Party is no more.

However, I will not be returning to the Constitutional Union Party, nor will I become an official independent.  Instead I will be forming a new party, but one that will not take itself as serious as my previous efforts.  I hereby announce that I am forming today, the Atlasian Monster Raving Loony Party and I will be running for the office of Vice President this June.  I am reasonably well acquainted with Vice, so I should make a good President of it.

As self-appointed spokesman for the Southeast Atlasian League of Inept Voters of Atlasia, we officially denounce the AMRLP as a radical left-right-wing fringe group with insincere promises, and disturbing policies.  Therefore, we have little choice but to whole-heartedly support* Justice Ernest in his bid for the Vice Presidency.

* Joe Republic is not actually a member of SALIVA, but is merely the spokesman guy that they pay to make pointless announcements such as this.

We spit on the Southeast Atlasian League of Inept Voters of Atlasia for failing to realize that the AMRLP is sincere in its promises.

The Southeast doesn't have any inept voters.

Only the Mideast does, especially those who vote for socialized gun distribution without realizing that they're voting for socialized gun distribution.  Tongue

The North American Silly Party is loosely affiliated with the Loonys, but AFAIK, they've never actually placed a candidate on the ballot.

Given the state of Southeast politics, I would think all Southeastern voters are by definition inept. Tongue

Should the merger with Freedom go through, I will leave the FL and join this party. Which would make Hawaii a one-party-state. Smiley

Make of that what you will... Grin

I hope not. Hawaii needs at least two parties.  One with beer and pretzels and another with a veggie platter and wine.

I thank the Justice for his excellent choice of political party.
Especially since it means that I can say the preceding without talking to myself.
Of course, talking to myself is nice.
I hardly ever get into an argument with myself, and when I do, I always win!

We could be the party's two wings, locked in mortal combat over control of the party. Smiley
The merger won't go through though, so don't you worry.

I tend to lose..... Arguing with myself is always frustrating as I always seem to know more than I do and thus find it impossible to defeat myself.

I am reasonably well acquainted with Vice, so I should make a good President of it.

What is your reaction to those who claim to be the Chairman of Vice?

Depends on whether or not we can have a 3-way with the Chairwoman of Vice.
