Ben Carson didn't go through Yale, medical school, and become a director at Johns Hopkins just because of affirmative action. Come on now.

Even his track record of successful surgery isn't bad at all, great to say the least.  The harder the medical field, the more malpractice lawsuit.

"Figure 1 shows the proportion of physicians who faced a malpractice claim in a year according to specialty. Across specialties, 7.4% of physicians annually had a claim, whereas 1.6% made an indemnity payment. There was significant variation across specialties in the probability of facing a claim, ranging annually from 19.1% in neurosurgery, 18.9% in thoracic–cardiovascular surgery, and 15.3% in general surgery to 5.2% in family medicine, 3.1% in pediatrics, and 2.6% in psychiatry. "

Psychiatry is the easiest, hence much less lawsuit.  Then go into family medicine to general surgeon, to chest/heart surgeon.  And at the apex, neurosurgery.

19.1% annually.  That is like what?  1 out of every 5 cases resulted in a lawsuit per year on average.  The guy had 8 cases for decades and decades of practice since being a medical intern.

And people harping on him for that?  For leaving a sponge?  Guess what, every single surgeon had made at least one and or multiple life threatening mistakes in their life long practice.  And each one of them if they honest, had probably kill someone for the decision that they made.  Surgeons are also long working hour too.  Fatigues can caused human errors.

Of all the field out there, getting in the Medical field is hard.  Going through medical school, and passing the board is hard.  Being a surgeon is even harder, much less a neurosurgeon.  Much less one of the more renown neurosurgeon.  Much less having a track record that he had.

If there is anything I will defend Carson for, it is this.

This job is not like a teacher position, or an artist profession, or whatever profession where you can bullsh**t your way through.  People died by your action.

The right is already spinning the Politico piece as a left-wing MSM hit job.

I wouldn't be surprised if this actually helps him rise higher.

Carson's appeal is about his persona.  Something like this is fatal to candidacies like his.

Trump can walk his talk more than Carson can.

This is what I thought as well, his favorability was through the roof.  Of course, he got supporters from all different niche supporting him.  Taking out Carson, will give Cruz some room to breathe.

Don't all West Point graduates receive free tuition in exchange for 5 years of military service?  That could be where he got the idea that he would get a full scholarship.

lmao

I will seriously consider starting to support Donald Trump if he regains a clear lead in the polls and then tells Carson either during a debate or through Twitter that he "can't stump the Trump."

Once accepted, there are no costs associated with attending West Point, so yes, everyone goes on "full scholarship" though it isn't really a scholarship at all.

That's the thing...

And West Point also mentioned that the general didn't have to ability to offer and guarantee entry and probably wouldn't suggest he did.

Who's that guy on Atlas that said Carson would implode in a month from a scandal just like Cain did? Please come forth and accept your accolades.

Politico does it again. It was almost exactly four years ago they published the first story about Herman Cain's sexual harassment allegations. That was October 30th, 2011, which was just 11 days after Cain gained a small lead in the RCP average. The parallels are kind of spooky.
