Basically fixing a few oversights from the last Speaker's elections. First, an extension in the nominating period in case people don't know what's going on after a Speaker randomly resigns. The second change is to clarify what happens after a write-in vote is made.

Yeah, I support. Let's go 48 hrs., so will offer this, but both timespans should be the same - 36 or 48.

I am also fine with two days.

Just wondering, are Amendments to the SOAP any different from laws in how they get passed (go through Assembly, signed into law by Governor)? What about Constitutional amendments?

They'll get voted on by the Assembly, and (I believe) it requires a public referendum to pass. I'll double check though.

It only requires the majority of the Assembly to pass it because it's only related to the Assembly's internal workings.

Fair enough. We could pass this tonight then.

Alright, then. Since everybody seems to be fine with a 48-hour limit, I'll put this up to a vote. Representatives have 48 hours to vote AYE, NAY or ABSTAIN.

I vote AYE

Alright, this would have passed 3-0, though, since cinyc has yet to post the results, I'm not sure whether any of us are still part of the Assembly.

The new term doesn't start until Friday anyway.
