No. But the answer to the poll question is it depends.

No.  Sadly, the Republicans from my state turn out to be the most extreme Republicans in the United States.  So, no, I would not vote for Huckabee, Hutchinson, etc, etc.

More than likely, no.  I must say the NE Philly Republicans (Taylor, O'Brien, Kelly) are generally much more tolerable than the ones at the national level though.

Kelly is a RINO.

I would be less likely to vote for a candidate from New Jersey.

Considering that a good number of the Democrats "from" NY aren't from NY...

No.

Yeah, as if the idiots who run the state would ever elevate Rob Andrews. :/

Depends on the circumstances and which candidates were on the ballot.

Probably not- maybe if the Dems controlled congress I'd be more likely to support a GOP pres nominee. Frist- never, Alexander- maybe but doubtful with GOP control.

Homestate has very little affect on me. If you vote for someone because he/she is from your homestate than that shows that you do not have a good grasp of the issues. For God's sake I would rather have somebody vote for a person because of one very small issue than for something like where he is from.

There are rarely any Independents from Viriginia, so I always vote for "the other guy."  hahaha . . . however, people should not vote based solely on their party, but rather on who is more qualified for the position.

My state has already provided its fair share of winning candidates (McKinley, Taft, Harding).  I don't think I'd really care all that much if another one came from Ohio.

Unless perhaps they were really local, like from the Dayton or Cinci areas.  Then perhaps it would be nice to see a local boy/girl go really far.

Even so, there are some Ohians, like Governor Taft or Sec. of State Ken Blackwell, who I would never vote for.

No, and the reason why the level of no's is so high is because we actually follow politics among average Americans it would probably make a difference.

Exactly.

"Well I don't know anything about either candidate or where they stand, but I know that X grew up not far from here, and has been good to this state so far.  I'll vote for him."

I feel the same way.   I'd also consider voting for Congressmen Gerlach, Fitzpatrick, Dent or Platts and former Congressman Greenwood.

No, not unless their views came at least somewhat close to mind and the person running in my party was an idiot!

Ugh, I don't like Sensenbrenner, espeically after nearly stopping the National Intelligence Director post from being created.
