This is a slight twist on a previous poll done.  If you knew that the next President would be either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, who would you choose?  Note: assume that in either case, the House will remain Republican but the Senate will flip Democratic.

For me, the choice is pretty easy - I'd go with Hillary, as she seems to be to the right of Bernie on economic issues and probably won't try to push through universal healthcare.

Hillary, she is more moderate than Sanders and can actually probably get things done with Congress.

Only Hillary would be able to make me prefer Sanders. At least he's pro-gun and genuine in his beliefs.

Sanders. At least he's good in foreign policy, and he wouldn't be able to get most of his domestic agenda past through Congress.

That's tough - both would be very beneficial to Republicans in congress, for different reasons.

As a republican leaner who prioritizes foreign policy and civil liberties above all, the choice is easy, Sanders. Clinton pretty much represents the exact opposite of what I support in terms of policy. Sanders is by no means great but I think he is more honest and better of the issues I deem most important.

Not saying you should choose Hillary, but how is Bernie pro-gun?

If they're pro-gun, like someone who is authentic, and anti Obamatrade, that would make a lot of sense.

I would think Republicans with even a modicum of appreciation for the long term would have to vehemently oppose a Sanders presidency, because the general acceptance of a self-described socialist as President would imply a massive shift of the Overton window.
