I liked the bit where Haughey split away with the Fine Gaelers to form the Irish Republicans. (Fianna Fail known as the Republican party here)

1968 would be very close in Ireland between all three candidates; especially if Wallace kept onto his pro-labour platform even with Powell.

1972 = Solid Nixon victory; perhaps one of the few Ireland would vote Republican.

1976 Onwards = Solidly Democratic except in 1984 and possibly 1980. The sort of religious conservatism played by the GOP does not play well in Ireland; as most conservative catholics have a very dim view of neo-liberalism.
