should be pretty self-explanatory -- i'd like for the northeast to have some influence in space exploration, especially in case we do end up becoming independent.

Actually like this idea and may be copying it myself but don't you think that somebody that did something in regards to space travel like Krista McCollough a northeast citizen should have this named after instead of VIP Nix.

If we do go independent, I feel like it'd make more sense to continue partnering with the rest of Atlasia, especially considering that they already have the necessary infrastructure and pedigree when it comes to space travel.

A-ha, a spaceport at a great vacation spot. Tongue

I'll support.

Practically? Harvesting resources off-Earth from nearby objects (like asteroids) is a worthwhile, longterm goal.

As a huge supporter of space exploration, I support most of this bill. However, I feel that Delaware is too far North to build a spaceport. The Northeast really isn't a good place to launch rockets out of.

Russia doesn't really have any good places either, though. The Northeast is a part of a bigger country. Somewhere like Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, or Hawaii would work much better. Why settle for less when we don't have to?

I'm fine with trying to encourage more space exploration, but as I was saying, the rest of Atlasia already has better infrastructure and conditions...

How may I ask he was a traitor and coward by leaving our country when we were at her greatest time of need, the Communist Revolution.

He's not a traitor. That's a disgusting comment to make about someone, and that's coming from someone who presided over his impeachment

see, cc, this was before your time, but averroës nix is widely regarded as one of the best presidents in atlasian history. i think naming a spaceport after him would be, if anything, underwhelming. Tongue

america, russia, and china all have multiple launch sites, at varying latitudes within the country. i think it's worth it

I think it would be unnecessary and a waste of money.

Maybe we could partner with the corporate world on this?

If we go Independent, I think we should have a space program. As far as latitudes go, it's always been easier the nearer you are the equator to get something to escape the atmosphere, but we're at a point with technology where I don't think that would be a deal breaker at all.

Maybe we can change some stuff with a follow up bill later, but this is a start.
