Good evening, this is a Special Presentation of ABC News.

Viewers, good evening, we come to you with a special bulletin where this evening the Vice President, Peter Bell, will make an announcement regarding the coming June Presidential elections.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Vice President of the Republic of Atlasia.

*The Office of the Vice President, Atlasian Naval Observatory*

My fellow Atlasians, Good Evening,

With the conclusion of the Senate Midterms, the focus of many in Atlasia has now turned to the June elections, and in particular to the Presidential elections. In the days before I addressed you this evening great men have thrown their hats into the ring in their quest for the Presidency, and I address you today to announce that I am a candidate to be your seventh President.

Our Republic today faces many challenges - the number of new registrants is dwindling and elections now go uncontested in certain parts of the country. In meeting these challenges we must diversify, we must continue to forge a new Atlasia, not only to hold the interest of our citizens today, but also to find new ways to attract new voters. I intend to take our Republic boldly into the wider micronational community to forge new friendships and to advertise the great experiment that is Atlasia to those who may breath fresh life into her.

I will continue the Forum Affairs Revolution that will give us clear cut procedures for our most basic operations - An administration lead by me will continue to review election law to improve it and it will continue to review the criminal code to ensure that those who seek to vandalise the integrity of our democracy will not long prosper. We will seek out new ideas in forum affairs, and over the coming weeks I hope to present to you an outline of the proposals I will present.

Many will say that this election can be categorised by forum affairs, others will call for it to be another election on basis of ideology: The truth be told, its a bit of both - clearly our nation has a high priority in dealing with the state of the forum, but also we must remember that Atlasia is a grand political experiment in ideology. Whilst the PBrunsel Presidency was not the most competent administration we have had, it was nonetheless an eventful time in Atlasia - there was grand political intrigue, with the President often facing down the Senate with vetoes of politically contentious legislation. This isn't bad for our democracy, it keeps it strong, because the Senate voting every bill passed by large margains and then for it summarily to be signed into law just won't hold the interest of our citizens.

In the coming days and the coming weeks this nation must make its solemn choice, a man to guide, a man to lead, and I hope I can be your choice.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Good Night, and may Dave continue to bless you and Atlasia.

i can see myself voting for either Supersoulty, John Dibble, Peter Bell, or Ernest (if and when he decides to enter the race).

Hmm. I know where my first and second preferences lie with that field of candidates. But I'd still prefer to see a fringe liberal candidate that I can rank above them.

No. Smiley No, I don't think so. Although as there wouldn't be any chance of winning whatsoever, it'd probably be a much more enjoyable campaign. More like the Al/Lewis campaign of 8 months back...but before I get all nostalgic here: No. Definitely not.
