11.   Before the start of the 2014 Games in Sochi, the Olympic torch traveled the longest distance in history to some amazing places, including the North Pole, the bottom of Lake Baikal (the world’s deepest lake), the top of Mount Elbrus (Europe's highest mountain), and even into outer space.

I mean, the red.

yes, this is easily verified.  Mount Erbus is the highest point in that part of the world.  See, for example, http://geology.com/records/continents-highest-mountains.shtml

Here's a picture of the Olympic torch from the 2014 games being brought to the top of Mount Elbrus.

It depends on how you define the Europe-Asia border.  The way it usually is defined today, yes Elbrus is in Europe and is the highest. However, most pre-20th century definitions placed the border further north so that Elbrus would be in Asia, and then Mont Blanc on the border of Italy and France would be the highest.

If you must have a geographic border, then the modern definition is the most objective, but really, Europe isn't a geographic continent, it's a cultural region of the Eurasian continent.
