Would he really want to get flattened by Boozman?

He might as well go for it if nobody else will. Beebe's out and it doesn't appear Bill Halter or anybody else will run. He's really young (only 37) so this could be a chance for him to at least get his name out there.

I still consider this race Safe R, but a longshot challenge is better than no challenge at all.

Yeah, I'd run for shiits and giggles. Might even get a media deal out of it, and a plum senate job in the event of some unforeseen political earthquake.

Eldridge should consider a new haircut before considering a senate seat.

I mean, there's no reason not to just run, give a good effort, and put your name out there to run for another office in the future.

Do we have confirmation that Boozman is even running for re-election?

OK, Sabato's Crystal Ball still had a question mark next to his name.

I mean if he does retire, he would have to announce right about now, the filling deadline for the primary is November 9th.

I'm all in for Eldridge to run. Ark can be put in play; as for GOV, Dems put it in play.

I saw an approval rating of 40% for Senator Boozman. In a high-participation election he could lose to a moderate Democrat, especially if Barack Obama loses relevance in the campaign.

Well,
Of course he will lose, but I will obviously not complain about having a decent candidate somewhere Tongue.

My Gosh, I hope the Democrats spend time and money here.

You also dont believe Toomey will be defeated, but Sestak & McGinty are fine candidates.

Were you asleep in 2014? Did you not see how every single Democrat got stomped on? Not to mention his disapproval rating is probably less than 40%, but Democrats in Arkansas are a thing of the past.

Pat Hays only lost by eight points, which, all things considered, is a pretty respectable margin. I know it's a House race and much smaller electorate, but I'd hardly consider that getting "stomped on."

French Hill was a pretty awful candidate on the GOP side while Pat Hays was a top recruit.

ElectionsGuy, please stop concern trolling. We all know that Cotton only won because Democratic turnout in the big cities and the Little Rock suburbs was at a record low. With Hillary at the top of the ticket, such disastrous approval ratings and sky-high Democratic turnout, Boozman is done. He will get blanched, yes, his ceiling may be lower than 40%. In fact, Republicans have a better chance of picking up the open seat in CA than keeping this seat in Republican hands.

Ok, I don't think this guy is going to win, but if there's one place in the country where Obama has been uniquely hurting the Dem brand and Clinton would be uniquely strong, it's Arkansas.  It would be very foolish not to have someone credible on the ballot when Clinton could win the state vs. Trump.

Assuming Schuler runs; resources will be spent elsewhere, other than AR.
