Article VI: Membership
a. Any person agreeing to the Party platform shall be allowed to join the Socialist Party of South America.
b. Any member who brings the Party into disrepute or who engages in anti-Party activities is liable to have their membership suspended or canceled by the National Executive.
c. Any member who runs in an election against a duly nominated candidate of the Socialist Party of South America shall be automatically expelled from the Party pending appeal to the National Executive.

Article VII: Conventions
a. A convention shall be called once every three months by the General Secretary at a time of his or her choosing.

I would urge senior Party members to show a good example and vote promptly. This is not our dysfunctional neighbour to the north: there is no strategic advantage in waiting.

We have an unfortunate situation in which our Party Leader has been inactive both in and outside of parliament. That is why I motion for, in accordance with our constitution, dismissal of our Honorable Party Leader CrabCake by the National Executive, and for subsequent Party Leader elections to be held.

Seeing as the needed majority within the National Executive has been reached, I, in my position as General Secretary, declare that Mr. Crabcake, MP, Leader of the Socialist Party, has lost the confidence of party leadership and is hereby dismissed of his duties as Leader.

Seeing the office of Party Leader being vacant, I hereby give 24 hours for nomination and/or declaration of party members to run for Party Leader.

Understood, but I would prefer that the Party Leader would be a MP.

None of my business, but I'd suggest it might be problematic for the party to have a leader who's not a member of the house.

With all due courtesy, this is really only of Socialist Party members' concerns. If you want to follow your  opinion though, you're more than welcome to join the party

Although I hold both candidates and fellow comrades Cranberry and Murica in high esteem, I am concerned about the workability of the Opposition Leader being outside parliament. Our Party Leader needs to be active and dedicated to both Parliament and the health of the party.

So I'll be declaring my candidacy.
