Most of my friends are Asian and whites are actually a minority in some of the groups I'm in, so yes

This was me up through middle school with >90% Asian friends plus white Jews to fill up the rest, but then i went to a majorly white high school. My high school closest 15 friends included a half Lebanese (basically white), Puerto Rican, half Puerto Rican/half Filipino, half Japanese, a Filipino, and a Virgin Islands black (Is that still called African-American, pc?) - not quite a majority - 33 or 40% only. A few hispanics, asians, and especially Jews beyond the very close groups, but the school was very white compared to my majority minority hometown.

I'm very blessed that my workplace is mostly Asian because if there were more whites like the horrible university ones, I'd despise this. Not that I'd consider them close friends, but it makes it easier.

What are the trademark characteristics of the "horrible university" whites?

Yes. Defining CLOSE friend as someone who I meet with regularly and frequently for no other reason than enjoying each other's company, I have several close Asian friends, one close black friend, and several close mixed-race friends. Oddly (given the demographics of where I live) I seem to know very few Hispanic people.

Yeah.  However, most of my closest friends are White.  Most of them date back to high school and even elementary school, and our schools were ... not so diverse.

I think the reason many white people don't have any minority friends is because many white people live in very white areas. Similarly, many black and Hispanic people live in areas where there are mostly other black and Hispanic people. Its just de facto segregation.

I have a close friend who's Pakistani and another who's Latina but passes and usually describes herself as white. I had a close friend from India but we had a falling out, and I was dating an Indo-Caribbean girl but we broke up.

There are only about 10 people I would consider close friends, and yes, all of them are white.
