Tories have gained Wimbledon

Blair's majority went up, btw

Nope, down 6%. The margin went up thanks to the million candidates dividing up the opposition.

What are the demographics there, Al?

Racially polarised textile area. Very socially conservative.

Yet the name of their rep is Shahid Malik.

So far, it's been a pretty boring election.

We've held Elmet. We've squeaked Battersea. We seem to have lost Southgate (we've done very badly in the London suburbs).

Enfield Southgate will go Tory.

Terrible news - Galloway seems to have won. Disgusting.

Manchester Withington has set a new swing record, and I belive it beats even the 97 records. I haven't got the exact figure yet, but I've heard in excess of 20%

Lab hold Rossendale & Darwen. David Davis wins. Tories hold Orpington. Labour hold Gloucester, despite the racism. Tories gain Southgate.

Labour losses 14:
to Liberal Democrats 6
to Conservatives 6
to SNP 1
to IND 1

The following "non-vulnerable" seats were lost, and so had huge swings
IND Blaenau Gwent
CON Enfield Southgate
LD Hornsey & Wood Green
LD Manchester Withington
LD Rochdale

Labour lost 9 of 24 vulnerable seats

In addition, there was a PC -> Liberal seat and a Liberal -> Conservative seat

Labour -14
Conservatives +7
Liberal +6
Others +1
