http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/05/04/Broadbent_050504.html

After returning to the House of Commons after a 15 year absense in 2004, former NDP leader Ed Broadbent is calling it quits again. Why? His wife is sick.

This is very bad news, Ed is very popular, even among non-New Democrats. The NDP will not hold Ottawa Centre in my opinion, not against Richard Mahoney anyways.

Seems like a total waste to be elected for 1 year.
