Remember, the original birthers were Clinton supporters.

You might see some anti-semitism and large amounts of ageism.

Hopefully, Hillary will just literally fall asleep for the entire length of the campaign. Sanders will obtain all of Hillary's planned media attention, and will easily defeat O'Malley/Webb/Chafee and then easily defeat Hillary herself.

Then we can all watch the Bush/Kasich/Paul/Pataki/Ehrlichslide in the general Smiley (Hopefully Republicans don't nominate someone besides these five)

This. Absolutely no reason to risk pissing off progressives by going hard against a non-threat.

Nowhere near as ugly as the Hillary haters go against her on a daily basis.

I think Sanders' campaign isn't about beating Hillary Clinton or attacking her.  It's about raising issues and focusing on policy, which in no way hurts Hillary Clinton.

So, naturally, there's no conflict between the two campaigns.  Sanders can accomplish what he wants while Clinton can accomplish what she wants.  They don't need to attack each other because they're not rivals for the nomination.

This.

I've hardly seen Hillary supporters criticize Sanders, but it appears Sanders fans have already declared open warfare on Hillary. DailyKos had finally reached the point where members were discussing Hillary fairly rationally (the usual criticisms nonwithstanding), but since Sanders' announcement it's lapsed into full blown Hillary Derangement Syndrome all over again.

And we have the left-wing's version of the tea party, speak loudly and lose big... but feel good about yourself afterwards.

Except "the left-wing version of the Tea Party" has never won. They have never had a president in the White House who sticks up for the issues that matter to them.

And, they don't hijack the party to do their bidding with. They sit back for decades and offer kindly suggestions, not assertive demands. Big difference.

The progressive left is never listened to. However, the Tea Party whines and stomps until they get their way.

Maybe its time for the progressive left to take a play from the Tea Party playbook if they want their turn.

I do, but I'm not stupid. The Tea Party has driven the Republican Party into the ground, nationally speaking. I want progressive Democrats to have a voice in the White House, but a moderate liberal is far better IMO than a Republican.

I'll take what I can get, honestly. If Hillary Clinton is what I have to settle on, then I'm beyond fine with that. A progressive in the White House is something I want, but I don't think progressives should drive the party into the ground in pursuit of that.

The TP hasn't remotely driven the national party to the ground but it would if Cruz or Carson win the nomination.  As for Clinton she can just ignore the guy but co opt his message

The Tea Party gets their way because they all have the sense to run for state legislature and gerrymander the House and force the Republicans to the right Congressionally where it matters. The Progressive Left just wants to have a President that they can brag about supporting with bumper stickers.

If she is smart, she will "kill" him with kindness, and say he raises some legitimate points about inequality, and so forth, and she is concerned too, and they need to work together to make the system fairer, etc.

I don't think anyone really cares about Sanders enough to do that. Considering that I think he's running to make a statement more than actually trying to win, it's probably not going to be that ugly of a race.

Pretty much, and I think it is her strategy.

And why would a President Sanders with a GOP Congress going to help the poor?

LOL at the idea of there being kindness here. The Clinton supporters still hate Claire McCaskill for being a woman who endorsed Obama.

Probably none at all, Sanders is not a threat, he's too far left even for the Democratic party to even have a shot at the nomination, his ceiling is probably 15-20% of primary votes, which is not very concerning for Clinton.
