Feliz 25 de Abril/Happy 25th of April! Say that the elections in 1975 had been won by the Communist Party. After the failed fascist coup, politics take an even more leftist turn and the PCP becomes much more powerful than IRL. What does the US do in reaction to the sprouting of Communism within NATO?

The US would never tolerate the democratic election of a leftist party on its turf. "Humanitarian intervention" might be avoided because of the Vietnam hangover, though there will be a nice coup.

Might there have been a large military aid package sent to exiled regime members? And possible organization of these leaders?
